Halloween Cookies: Mrs Fields Fright Takes Flight Box

Halloween cookies are a great way to celebrate the holiday. We are affiliates with Mrs. Fields and wanted to show you one of her fabulous, Halloween cookie boxes. It's called "Fright Takes Flight Box" and it features a black and orange bat with little fangs, and very friendly eyes. He or she has little red ears and moving wings that display the Halloween message, "Eek a Boo" decorated with little orange bats.

Disney Costumes: Cinderella and Prince Charming

When it comes to Disney costumes, Cinderella and Prince Charming top the list. I don't know about you, but these two have been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl. I think any couple considering attending a Halloween or costume party as Disney characters should seriously consider going as Cinderella and Prince Charming.

There are several Prince Charming outfits available as well as gowns for Cinderella, but my personal favorite is the long, blue gown that she wore. You can get the gown along with the satin choker and headband for a classic Cinderella costume.

Prince Charming looks dashing and handsome in his ensemble that features a jacket with fringed epaulettes, and sash. There's no question that anyone who dresses as Cinderella for Halloween or a costume party will be the belle of the ball. Her male companion will be charming and dashing as well.

Disney Costumes: Beauty and the Beast (Belle)

One of the most popular choices for Disney costumes include Beauty and the Beast. Beauty, or Belle, is the studious, young girl with a crazy father. Her father stumbles upon a castle ruled by an evil beast, who wants to keep Belle's father as his hostage. Belle (also known as Beauty) is full of love, kindness, compassion and generosity and offers to remain with the Beast in his castle in place of her father.

It is because Belle has such characteristics of selfless love and compassion that she can see past the Beast's gruff exterior to the man within. Unbeknownst to Beauty, the Beast is actually a prince who was cast by a witch's spell as punishment for being rude to her. Of course, like all fairy tales, true love breaks the spell and Beauty and the Beast live happily ever after.

Disney Costumes: Alice in Wonderland and Mad Hatter

I've always been a fan of Alice in Wonderland, and maybe that's why I think these Disney costumes would be absolutely perfect for a couple. You can get the classic Alice in Wonderland costume and Mad Hatter (with the red, Mad Hatter wig worn by Johnny Depp in the film separately), for what I think would be the most charming costume idea for a couple.

Not only is this great for Halloween, but any costume party or tea party!

The Alice in Wonderland dress features two pieces: the dress and the tulle skirt. It comes with a bow headband.

There are accessories available that complement the Alice costume, such as the White Rabbit purse (seen in the photo but not included with the costume) and the glow in the dark "Drink Me" necklace. You can style your own hair or get an Alice blonde wig!

Mad Hatter Wig

The Mad Hatter isn't a red head, but rather an "orange" head. It's this brilliantly colored orange mass of curls that really made the "Hatter" come to life in the Disney film. You don't have to get the wig to complete the costume, but it certainly doesn't hurt!

When it comes to choosing witch costumes, there are plenty options available to choose. First, are you a good witch or a bad witch? Witch costumes are the top picks for adults and every Halloween has more than enough witches to go around. Good witches like Glinda are always a popular choice, but so too are bad witches like The Wicked Witch of the West. Witches have long been associated with Halloween and magic and are one of the symbols associated with the holiday. Maybe it’s because witchcraft is associated with magical powers, secret knowledge and the ability to cast spells and control forces that makes it an alluring Halloween costume. Whatever the reason, when it comes to top picks for adult Halloween costumes, the witch comes in number one.

Witchcraft  and the belief and practice in magic is one of the oldest religions. The Jews had laws in the Torah regarding the stoning of witches.

Exodus 22:18 says, “Thou shalt no suffer a witch to live.” As Christianity spread across Europe and to the Americas, so too did the persecution of witches. Witches were believed to be in cahoots with satan or the devil and some believed that a birthmark was an identifying symbol of a witch’s pact

This has also led to a modern resurgence in witchcraft’s popularity.

For the past several centuries, witches were shriveled, old women covered in wrinkles who sought to do harm to innocent children. Fairy tales are rife with the stereotypical “wicked witch.” Modern culture; however, has changed the face of witchcraft with popular television shows such as “Bewitched,” “Charmed,” “The Good Witch,” “Every Witch Way,” “The Wizards of Waverly Place,”  “The Originals,” “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” “The Secret Circle,” “Sleepy Hollow,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Witches of East End,” and “Once Upon a Time.” Today’s culture has greater acceptance for witchcraft through the religion of Wicca and more people who are practicing witches have the opportunity to live their lives in the United States free from persecution, harassment or death.

It’s no surprise; however, that the witch is the most popular Halloween costume, but what is interesting is that both bad witch and good witch costumes are equally popular. Some even like to be a beautiful, sexy witch while others prefer to be an old crone with wrinkles, warts and hairy moles.
